I'm not really into westerns and I've never really seen anything with Randolph Scott but I hear from lots of people who don't even like westerns either, that Randolph was a great actor.

Budd Boetticher, who directed him in some of his most memorable westerns (e.g. SEVEN MEN FROM NOW, THE TALL T, etc.), was my publicity client.

He was wonderful in movies before westerns and his look was breathtaking, but he aged extremely well and he was agreat cowboy and he was in a lot of great westerns with his company, its true.
He could have acted in anything though, I think.

Randolph Scott was born to play in westerns. The older he got, the better he looked.

A Randol Scott group?? Now you're talkin'!!
Hubba Hubba!!
And what an actor!

--You can't compare him to Wayne, Scott acted, was talented, attractive, not a fascist.
Having said that I do love, " Horse Soldiers."

Randolph Scott is great in westerns, of course, like Joel Mcrea, but the both are more fun to see younger before they started doing westerns, when they were romantic.

Oops! I accidentally deleted my post when all I wanted to do is correct the punctuation.

What I said was: As much as I like John Wayne's movies, I like Randolph Scott's films better.

Also, I mentioned that Scott was Margaret Mitchell's choice to play Ashley Wilkes in GONE WITH THE WIND.

Now, Miss Retro's post is back in context.

:-)
