Profile Information

About Me:
I'm a huge fan of the fifties and very interested in everything from the decade - everything from girly things (hair, makeup, jewellery, fashion) to daily life, like jobs, cars, raising kids, home decor, food, traditions, etc.

I live in Denmark and yes, the car is my own! :)
Things I Love:
My friends and my family of course, but besides them - vintage cars and jewellery and clothes and shoes and purses and perfume and red lipsticks and music - almost everything vintage, and especially from the fifties!
Favorite Decades:
The fifties are my absolute favourite decade, but the late forties and the very early sixties are also great.
Favorite Vintage Actors/Actresses
Marilyn Monroe, Jayne Mansfield, Audrey Hepburn, Jane Russel, Liz Taylor - to pick just a few.
Website:

We are car-crazy in my family, below I have added a handful of photos from Concour de Charme competitions, in which we have to dress and act and have things from the same era as our cars - enjoy! :)

My dream car, an Opel GT from 1971, which I drive during summer:

Tiny Honk (the GT's nickname), my nephew and me:

Mum's car - a rare Fiat 508C Balila from 1939, she drives it daily:

Mum and I in front of the judges, dressed and acting like ladies from the late thirties:

Dear husband and dad's Chevy Stepside from 1940, dressed like a farmer from the forties:

Dad and his very rare Harley Davidson from 1925, dressed like a man from the era:

Son (of course he had his own vintage pedal car) dressed as a boy from 1910-20 with toys from the same era:

The happy winner (son aged 9). He won third price in the "Before 1940" category:

On our way home from the competition ("Trille" means rolling):

My Happy Hubby

Here you see my happy hubby:

with the latest addition to the collection of vehicles: a Honda Shadow VT1100. It is not exactly vintage - from 1988.

DH is not the bikertype, but he has been talking about a Shadow for about 25 years. A colleague had it for sale and gave him a ride on his birthday, he was hooked,… Continue

Excuse me ...

for being so inactive here on my favourite network!

As some of you might remember I got a new job as Microsoft license expert and started on 1 April. We should be five in my team, we were three with me! Then one of them went down with serious stress and then the other one quit!!! Not good! Not good at all! Also because I liked those two great women so much and we could have been a great team.

So now we're me who has been employed for almost three months now, one of the "old gals" is there for… Continue

Finally Spring!

The roses are cut, the green house is scrubbed so it is almost invisible and Tiny Honk is washed and ready for the season:

Ahh, I just love Spring! :)

Thanks so much for the Halloween picture! I hope you and your family had a great one and have a wonderful Christmas! Things have been so hectic here since the week of Halloween and it hasn't stopped yet, but I'm so sorry I haven't been able to get back to you until now!

You got some lovely gifts and I want to wish you a Happy Birthday. I love Christmas too. I haven't yet started decorating for Christmas but I will this Friday. The year went by so fast, they always do, lot of changes and I'm still pluggin away at finding the "perfect job" which who knows I may still find. So you're all set for the concert next year, that is awesome. Enjoy the new shoes and hope you did have a nice birthday

I have a few ideas for my partner.. I love buying gifts :) We're going to the Xmas markets in the city tomorrow night and to see more lights being switched on. Then on Sunday there is a Vintage market... really excited about that!! I hope you have a fabulous week!

Hi Sanne, thank you so much for the photo of your daddy, how lovely. It must have been such a fun day! That Harley is SO gorgeous!! :) I hope you are very well and enjoying yourself. We saw a wonderful fireworks display tonight, celebrating the Xmas lights being switched on in our town. I love this time of year so much! Hope you are having a great weekend!

Are you ready to Thanksgiving? It just sort of snuck up didn't it? All of a sudden the holidays are here. How are you doing? Have a good weekend.

Hello, visiting you and hope you are doing well. Before long we will be celebrating Thanksgiving and then Christing will follow shortly thereafter. Where did the year go? I'm still pluggin away at the job thing, I must have the patience of a saint but I did enroll at the local community college here in my home town should I not find work, that wouldn't start until next Feb. I do have a second interview coming up next week Tues. Nov. 17th. Talk to you soon, have a good weekend.
